The Tri-State Area’s Top Solar Installers

What It Means That We're an Enphase Platinum Installer

Enphase - Assets_Platinum_linear_edit

This summer, Enphase moved us up to Enphase Platinum installer, moving us up from the “Gold” level. This is great news for us, but I want to explain what it actually means in practical terms, rather than just displaying a new badge on our website.

After all, a logo on an installer’s website doesn’t say much on its own; many companies collect them. What really matters is the work put into earning that status and the connection to the system that will ultimately be installed on your roof.

In our case, that connection is very real, and I’m going to walk you through the entire process.

In this case, it does, and I’ll walk through the entire process.

How We Earned Enphase Platinum Installer Status

Enphase does not simply hand you an evaluation form to fill out. Instead, the company monitors a few key indicators over an extended period and assigns installers to the top tier based on extensive experience installing Enphase products exclusively, exceptional quality, and top-tier customer satisfaction scores.

It is worth reading that carefully, as it encompasses three distinct elements, each presenting a different challenge.

This cannot be bought; it is the result of years of installations. We started in 2009 and have worked with Enphase ever since. There are no shortcuts that would allow a company founded just two years ago to reach the top of this ranking.

This is a point homeowners often overlook. “Platinum” status is not intended for companies that use Enphase only occasionally; it is reserved for those that have committed to this platform and remained loyal to it. This is a deliberate choice on our part.

By consistently installing the same inverter platform, our teams gain genuine expertise, and our maintenance technicians master the equipment perfectly; we don’t have to resort to guesswork when a service call is needed. Even eight years down the line.

enphase platinum installerEnphase measures this criterion using the Net Promoter Score (NPS) and explicitly states that it uses these scores to categorize installers. The survey is sent to homeowners via the Enphase app between 30 and 180 days after system commissioning—allowing enough time for the initial novelty to wear off.

Only one question is asked: “How likely are you to recommend this company?” A score of 9 or 10 works in your favor, while a score of 6 or lower penalizes you.

And that second group cancels out the first. That is the aspect I like best.

The company that sold you the system does not rate its own work; your neighbors do.

Our residential customers rate us 4.86 out of 5 on SolarReviews, and the majority of our business comes from referrals; survey results therefore generally reflect what we are already seeing in the field.

The Three Tiers in The Enphase Installer Network

Enphase runs an installer partnership program for companies that install its equipment. It comprises three tiers: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. PLATINUM is the highest tier. Here is how Enphase describes them.

TierWhat Enphase says it recognizes
Platinum -TerraSol EnergiesThe longest track record of exclusively installing Enphase products, exceptional quality, and the highest customer satisfaction scores. Certified on IQ Batteries.
GoldA long track record of installing Enphase products and consistently strong customer experience ratings. Certified on IQ Batteries.
SilverA sizable number of Enphase solar systems installed. Some Silver partners are also certified for Enphase storage.

Platinum vs. Gold Enphase Installer: What’s the Difference?

This point can be confusing, as “Gold” status already represents a solid benchmark. A Gold installer has extensive experience with Enphase and consistently receives excellent customer ratings.

If you are comparing two companies and one holds Gold certification, that is certainly not a negative sign.

The difference comes down to two criteria. Gold status recognizes extensive experience installing Enphase products. Platinum status recognizes the most extensive experience installing these products exclusively.

Consequently, a company that uses Enphase equipment for most of its projects. But opts for a different solution when the profit margin is more attractive—can reach and maintain Gold status.

Platinum status, however, requires the highest customer satisfaction scores in the network, rather than just consistently good results.

In short, Gold status indicates that a company has mastered Enphase products. Platinum status demonstrates that the company committed to Enphase years ago and has consistently been ranked among the best in the network by its customers ever since.

Enphase also requires specific certification for installing IQ Batteries at both the Gold and Platinum levels. Battery installation involves electrical work and entails different failure risks compared to standard solar installations; Enphase therefore wants to ensure that the necessary training has been completed before associating its name with yours.

Additional Information

Why Enphase Microinverters Are on Every Solar Energy System We Install

Every solar system must convert the direct current (DC) generated by the panels into alternating current (AC) that your home can use. This is the job of the inverter.

Enphase manufactures microinverters. Instead of a single, bulky inverter mounted on the wall to manage the entire installation, a small inverter is placed under each panel. Each panel operates independently.

If a chimney casts a shadow on a panel at 4 p.m., that panel stops producing power, while the others continue. In a series (“string”) system, that shaded panel can reduce the performance of all the other panels connected to the same circuit.

Every system must convert the DC power from the panels into AC power usable by your home. The inverter handles this task.

When a chimney casts a shadow on a panel at 4 p.m., that panel stops working, but the others keep producing energy. In a series system, the shaded panel drags down the performance of the entire string, reducing overall energy production.

We still have microinverters in operation that were installed back in 2010. When selling equipment designed to stay on a roof for 25 years, that kind of reliability is worth far more than just a spec sheet.

The panel-by-panel design also enables true monitoring. It’s not just about knowing that “the system produced 42 kWh today”; it’s about getting detailed data for each individual panel. If output drops anywhere in the array, we know exactly which panel is affected, and usually why, often before the customer even contacts us.

That is the practical advantage of Enphase’s product innovation, and it is why our teams trust their technology.

Enphase solar equipment also comes with robust warranties, ensuring your investment remains protected long after the installation team has left. That feeds straight into how we handle solar panel maintenance once a system is live.

The tier system serves as a selection tool. You are hiring a provider for equipment designed to last 25 years; you likely do not know any of these companies and need a way to distinguish between them that does not rely solely on their sales pitch.

We’ve written before about picking a solar panel installer and how to compare bids apples to apples, and a manufacturer tier is one more filter on top of that.

“Platinum” status reflects three factors that are difficult to fake: the company has a long track record in the field, it has made a long-term commitment to a specific equipment platform (rather than switching to the cheapest option of the moment), and it boasts excellent ratings from past customers.

There is also a practical aspect. Enphase provides an installer locator tool on its website; simply enter your postcode to view certified installers in your area and their qualification levels. We are listed there.

If you’re researching options and want to verify whether a company is part of the Enphase network—and whether it truly holds the status it claims. This is the ideal place to check.

Enphase clearly states that installers are independent businesses and that it is not responsible for the quality of our work—which makes perfect sense—though it does control which companies are listed and at what level.

Let’s be clear on one point: a qualification level is not a guarantee in itself, nor does it ensure that every project will proceed without a hitch. It simply reflects the company’s performance over the years.

This criterion should be factored into your decision, alongside the sales proposal, production estimate, labor warranty, installation team status (in-house employees vs. subcontractors), and how the company responds if a problem arises three years after the invoice has been paid.

Independent credentials matter here too. Our team is also NABCEP certified, which measures the installer rather than the equipment.

We haven’t changed a thing to get where we are today—and that is precisely the point. The same teams, the same equipment, and the same approach to client relationships.

That approach, in case we haven’t met yet, is all about explaining how solar energy works, rather than pressuring you to sign a contract. Half of our initial meetings are dedicated solely to answering your questions.

Some people choose solar, others don’t, and I am perfectly happy with either outcome. Those who understand what they are buying are the ones who remain satisfied ten years down the line; they are also the clients who recommend us to their neighbors.

Platinum didn’t invent this commitment; the company measures it. We fulfill our mission by earning that day in and day out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Platinum status mean that Enphase guarantees the installer’s work?

No. Enphase specifies that installers in its network are independent contractors and that it is not responsible for their work. This status reflects the company’s track record and customer reviews and does not guarantee workmanship quality

Both are established Enphase partners with excellent customer reviews and battery certification. The “Platinum” level goes a step further, recognizing the most extensive experience in exclusively installing Enphase products, as well as the highest customer satisfaction scores in the network..

Through Net Promoter Score (NPS) surveys sent to homeowners via the Enphase app, between 30 and 180 days after system activation. These scores come from customers rather than the installer; therefore, a company cannot rate its own work.

Use the installer search tool on the Enphase website. Enter your postcode to view certified installers near you, as well as each one’s certification level.
