Solar Installation Chester County PA

Trusted solar services:
TerraSol is a top-ranked solar company in the tri-state area.
Our solar installation Chester County PA crews work out of Chadds Ford, right on the county line, and we’ve been designing and building owned solar systems for homes, businesses, and nonprofits since 2009.
As a family-owned solar company, we have completed over 400 projects across Pennsylvania and three neighboring states, with some of our largest installations located right here in Chester County.
We do not offer solar leases or Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). You retain ownership of the system; we handle the design in-house and remain your provider for installation and maintenance long after the solar panels are installed.

What is the impact of custom solar ownership in Chester County, PA?
By owning their own custom solar installations, homeowners and businesses in Chester County, Pennsylvania, retain 100% of their energy savings, net metering credits, and SREC revenue rather than ceding them to a leasing company. We have installed approximately 2,523 kW of solar capacity in Chester County, resulting in an annual reduction of approximately 1,877 tons of CO2 emissions.

2.5 MW Installed for Your Chester County Neighbors
TerraSol Energies has installed about 2,523 kW of solar across Chester County, using 4,436 solar panels on local roofs and fields. Together, those systems produce more than 2.3 million kWh of clean energy a year and cut an estimated 1,877 tons of CO2 annually.
These aren’t projections. They’re your neighbors in Malvern, West Chester, Kennett Square, West Grove and Kimberton, running on energy from their own roofs and fields.

Chester County has a lot of variety. Stone farmhouses, modern housing developments, car dealerships along major roads, and municipal buildings, schools, and religious complexes set on spacious grounds. Each site requires a tailored design, and we have successfully completed projects for all of them.
Our team handles electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering, as well as permitting and grid interconnection, meaning a single company manages your entire project.
If a roof turns out to be older than expected or an electrical panel is undersized, the very people who designed your system will resolve the issue. Furthermore, if a property is unsuitable for the project, we will let you know before you sign anything.
Solar Savings Estimates for Chester County PECO Customers
We do not calculate potential savings until our engineers have assessed your roof or site. However, three local factors determine almost all the solar estimates we create for Chester County, and you can verify them yourself.
PECO supply rates keep climbing
PECO’s benchmark residential rate (used to compare offers) is set at 11.76 cents per kWh from June 1 to November 30, 2026, up from 11.129 cents in December 2025.
This figure covers only the cost of energy supply. Delivery charges are added on top; consequently, every kWh generated by your solar panels saves you far more than just the supply cost.

Chester County sun, measured on real systems
Our five local installations with complete production data show an average output of approximately 1,219 kWh per year for every kW of installed solar capacity.
This figure ranges from 1,087 kWh/kW (at the Faulkner Buick rooftop in West Chester) to 1,293 kWh/kW (at the Sycamore International installation in West Grove). We size your system based on regional performance, not a national average.
Net metering pays you, not a leasing company
PECO’s net metering program offsets the electricity you feed into the grid against the electricity you consume (on a kWh-for-kWh basis) and compensates you for any remaining annual surplus at the benchmark rate.
As the owner of the system, you retain 100% of these credits as well as any revenue generated from SRECs (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates).
What those numbers mean for a 10 kW home system
Based on the Chester County average (1,219 kWh per kW), a 10 kW system would generate approximately 12,190 kWh annually. Based solely on PECO’s current supply rate, this translates to savings of around $1,430 for your household in the first year alone.
If the current rate remains constant over 25 years, the total savings reach approximately $35,800, excluding delivery charges, SREC revenue, future rate hikes, and the natural decline in panel efficiency due to aging.
For businesses, the figures add up quickly. Faulkner Buick’s 341 kW system saves the equivalent of the profit from two to three additional vehicle sales each month.

$35,800 25 years at today’s supply rate
100% Of the savings stay with the owner
Your real number depends on your roof, shading and usage, which is exactly what our engineering review measures. Figures are estimates based on PECO’s published 2026 residential price to compare and production data from TerraSol’s Chester County projects.
Residential Solar Installation Services for Chester County Homes
Most of our residential projects in Chester County come from homeowners who plan to stay in their homes. They are looking to lower their electricity bills, own their system outright, and work with a company that will still answer the phone, even 12 years down the line.
We treat your home solar as a long-term solar investment, not a quick sale.
A straight answer on incentives
The 30% federal tax credit for homeowners (Section 25D) does not apply to systems placed in service after December 31, 2025; consequently, older quotes that include it overestimate potential savings.
We model the cost and projected return on investment for your system based solely on current incentives, so the figures you see are the ones you will actually realize.

The “elective pay” (or “direct pay”) mechanism allows tax-exempt entities to receive clean energy tax credits as a direct payment; this makes owning a solar installation advantageous, even without a tax liability. The result is reduced operating costs, allowing you to reinvest those savings into your mission.
In Chester County alone, we provide solar power to a municipality to fully energize its public works department, to a school district where the high school generates approximately 660,000 kWh annually, and to a religious community where a residence for over 150 women is powered by solar energy.
The December 31, 2027, deadline applies to these projects as well.
